Online Classes - Latest Update

We are continuing to provide our extensive online class range throughout the current lockdown.

If you need any help to get setup online, including Zoom class codes, please see our website page at https://healthinessltd.co.uk/healthiness-online.php or you can contact us at info@healthinessltd.co.uk and we'll do our best to get you connected! Alternatively, we can provide a tech tutorial at a time convenient to you where we can help you get online - please see below for more details.

We'll be in touch as and when we're able to resume face-to-face class delivery which of course is dependent on the lockdown situation.

As always, we hope you're keeping well, thank you for your understanding and continued support and hope you'll join us online soon.

Here is our current online timetable for February:

Virtual Escape-Pain Classes

We are now taking bookings for the next virtual ESCAPE-pain programme which begins in March. Lasting for five weeks, each programme consists of twice-weekly classes on the Zoom app tailored to those with knee or hip arthritis. The virtual sessions are completely free of charge.
ESCAPE-pain classes improve the lives of people living with osteoarthritis and chronic joint pain through integrating educational self-management and coping strategies with an individualised exercise regimen for each participant. For more information on what the programme entails, please see the Escape-Pain website.
Tuesdays and Thursdays
4.00pm - 5.00pm
Starting Tuesday 2nd March 2021
"This has been an amazing programme. I want to continue as my friends and family have seen an amazing improvement in my mobility and self-care. It’s also great that you are addressing us as a whole person physically and mentally. I have loved meeting everyone." - Maggie

“I have been joining Andy and Sue online and if I missed it I will go on the YouTube. I found the WhatsApp notice every morning useful as I can plan my day around the exercises. I have even forwarded it to friends and family.” - John
As well as the current programme for knees and hips, we are also launching a new ESCAPE-pain group soon which is designed to benefit people with chronic back pain. We'll have more details in the next newsletter so please watch this space!

Active Bingo Training

We're planning to host a virtual Active Bingo training day on Friday 26th February via Zoom.
Active Bingo training will enable you and your staff to deliver an innovative and highly effective programme with your service users and increase physical activity, reduce falls, increase socialisation and reduce isolation whilst having fun and enjoyment in the process.
The three-hour training course covers the following: What is Active Bingo, the benefits and rationale Teaching points, managing a group, timings and suggested play lists Adaptations, progression Health & Safety, paperwork, monitoring Active Bingo works in a similar way to regular bingo. Participants are given a bingo card and a marker pen - the only difference is this Bingo card has chair-based exercises on it instead of numbers.

The instructor calls out an action and after a short demonstration the participants then copy the action to the music. When you have crossed off all the actions you have a Full House and you are the winner!

Active Bingo sessions can be tailored to your needs with variations on activity levels, duration and intensity so no matter what your service users' ability, Active Bingo can meet their needs.
Friday 26th February on Zoom
10.00am - 1.00pm
The training costs £99 per person which includes a certificate, extensive Active Bingo resources pack and on-going support from the Healthiness team.

To register your place(s) or if you would like further information, please contact andy@healthinessltd.co.uk or give us a ring on (0151) 728 8874.

We're presenting an ESCAPE-pain introductory class for Versus Arthritis on Thursday 25th February on their Facebook page.

If you'd like to find out more about the Escape-pain project and how it works, this would be a great place to start.
We've also pre-recorded several sessions which will be shown on Versus Arthritis' Facebook page in due course so look out for those as well. Healthiness Fundraiser
