Dementia Action Liverpool (DAL) is a not for profit limited company set up to provide business support to the Liverpool Dementia Action Alliance, a collaboration of over 90 organisations working together to help Liverpool become a more dementia-inclusive city. They run conferences and other events to raise awareness of dementia and work with the city council and the local NHS to improve services. They are commissioning this work about Meeting Centres on a consultancy basis.

They are seeking to recruit a Project Manager on a consultancy basis to develop the model for Meeting Centres in Liverpool – community places where people living with dementia and their carers can meet together and through various activities understand more about the condition and how to adapt to the diagnosis. What happens in the Centres is determined by its members.

The Project Manager will engage with existing groups of people with dementia and carers; research potential locations for a Meeting Centre; work with local businesses and community groups to raise awareness and encourage support for Meeting Centres; identify potential sources of funding for the running costs; and recommend a legal body and staffing structure for the first Centre(s).

The Project Manager will be skilled at working with people at all levels and from all sectors, most particularly people with dementia, carers and members of the public. They will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to facilitate and capture discussions and produce succinct and informative records.

For more information, please contact
Ruth Eley, Director of DAL at lpoolmcproject@btinternet.com or 07786 979997.

Deadline: 12 pm on Wednesday 23 February 2022.
