Dementia Information Day
Following in the footsteps of the very successful event held in 2019, Liverpool DAA are organising another full day of opportunities to get information and advice about all things relating to dementia.

On Thursday 29th September 2022, Liverpool Dementia Information Day will run from 10.00 to 5.00, offering a chance to meet and talk to nearly 30 providers of services, support and information for people living with dementia and family carers. There will be exhibition stalls, talks, legal advice sessions, fitness demonstrations, Dementia Friends and much more.

The free drop-in event will be at Bridge Chapel Centre, Heath Road, Allerton, Liverpool L19 4XR and it's open to people with dementia, friends and family members or anyone with any interest in or involvement with the condition.

House of Memories On The Road
National Museums Liverpool's amazing new touring mobile museum is the first-ever of its kind in the UK and is now out and about.
It is designed to create memorable immersive experiences for vulnerable and socially isolated people and people living with dementia .
The 30 metre square vehicle meets people in their neighbourhoods - at settings like care homes, community centres, even local shopping car parks.

4th Annual Conference of
Liverpool Dementia and Ageing Research Forum


The conference takes place the Florrie, 377 Mill Street, Liverpool, L8 4RF on 12th October 2022 and is for academics, health and social care professionals, commissioners, charities, and those with lived experiences, including carers, family members and people living with dementia.

Mersey Care New Location

As part of an ongoing programme of improvements, Mersey Care have announced the relocation of mental health services from Mossley Hill Hospital and Norris Green Hub, now at Thomas Leigh in Thomas Lane, Knotty Ash.

This is for older people living in Liverpool and Kirkby, providing an opportunity for some specialist inpatient and community mental health services to be co-located in improved buildings with patient-focussed environments.


The change does not affect the referral process or telephone numbers, or where care and treatment is provided, such as out-patient clinics which will continue to be providedat Norris Green Hub and Northwood House Kirkby.

It's Memory Walk time again !!
This September and October, Memory Walk returns to 25 locations across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Memory Walk is such a special event; the atmosphere is fun, supportive, and inspiring. You can walk alone (oh yes you can !), or  with your family and friends

Actress Vicky McClure has taken part in Memory Walk for over a decade, and in 2015, lost her Nanna, Iris, to dementia.

Vicky says ‘It’s emotional to see lots of people take part in Memory Walks across the three nations. It’s even more special to know that we’ll all be walking for a loved one with dementia.’
This year, join Vicky, and thousands of others, and walk for your loved ones affected by dementia. Walk to give anyone living with dementia the support they deserve

If you are living with this condition, are a family member or are working with people who have Lewy Bodies, this is a great place to find advice and answers to your questions.

Former prima ballerina Marta C. Gonzalez revisits her dancing days through the power of music

Former ballerina Marta C. Gonzalez - who lived with dementia - is taken back to her days dancing in Swan Lake thanks to the power of music.

Ms Gonzalez, who was a prima ballerina with the New York Ballet in the 1960s, lived with dementia before passing away in 2019.

The video was captured by Spanish charity Asociacion Musica para Despertar, who use music from a person's life to improve their mood and memory function after a dementia diagnosis.
