Liverpool- regional networking meeting - 15th September 100.00-12.00
An opportunity to virtually network and update everyone on research and services and ongoing activities surrounding dementia and ageing in the region. There will be a number of brief talks but mostly networking opportunities and discussions, so we all know what's going on in the region and to strengthen our network, and the possibility of coming up with collaborations. Register here.

New leaflet: Understanding Lewy body dementia
We work closely with Dementia UK to support the Admiral Nurse Dementia Helpline and are really pleased to have joined forces to create a new leaflet on 'Understanding Lewy body dementia'. You can find more information and download the leaflet here. 

New WHO report
The World Health Organisation has released a new report on the state of dementia across the globe last week. The new figures estimate there to be 55 million people living with dementia around the globe, with the number expected to rise to 139 million (more than double!) by 2050. The report can be found here:

New All-Party Parliamentary Group report on dementia
Today, the APPG on dementia has released a report urging the Government to deliver on its Moonshot funding, and highlighting recommendations for different areas of dementia research. There is also a focus on us as a dementia researcher workforce:

3rd annual conference - 3rd November
The 3rd annual conference will take place virtually again, and there are a whole range of talks available on the day! You can hear about some of the latest dementia and ageing research, as well as from 3rd sector and social care organisations such as Chinese Wellbeing, House of Memories, and SURF Liverpool, and from someone caring for someone with dementia. As always, the conference is free to attend, and there will be opportunities to discuss the work with presenters. Please feel free to share and sign up now:

Fundraising for Lewy Bodies

Lewy body dementia is the second most common cause of age-related dementia, affecting around 130,000 people in the UK.

In September, Clarissa Giebel is running the Great North Run for The Lewy Body Society because more needs to be done to fund & provide good care. You can support her by donating here.
