Sessions have been adapted to help to improve fitness, reduce social isolation, build resilience, improve morale and optimism for the future. The free programme will be delivered on a weekly basis, unless otherwise stated and details can be downloaded here.
Sola Arts - Liverpool-based, offering arts therapy through crafts and arts activities, in private and residential homes, benefiting carers as well as people living with dementia.
Netherley Forget Me Not Dementia Support Group - monthly get-togethers providing support through social activities, outing and special events.
Running Horses Dementia Cafe, St Helens - fortnightly opportunity to relax, socialise and meet other people with dementia and carers, run by Alzheimer's Society.
Sight and Mind (Dementia and sensory impairment support) - providers of training, consultancy, support and activity sessions in connection with dementia and/or sensory impairment. Based in Kirkby.
Heart of Egremont- Memory Lane Dementia Cafe - Information, activities (including crafts) and featured events, plus resources to stimulate conversation and encourage music enjoyment, in Wallasey.
Alzheimer's Society, Side by Side - helping people get out and about with the support of a volunteer doing an activity of their choice- joining a local club, going to the football, a cafe or just a stroll in the park. Currently not St Helens or Halton.
Memory Cafe, Knowsley - run by Alzheimer's Society, provides information about living with dementia and services available locally in a comfortable environment, a place to relax and meet other people with dementia and their carers.
Singing for the Brain, Knowsley - organised by Alzheimer's Society and based around the principles of music therapy, the stimulating sessions include singing a wide variety of familiar and new songs in a fun and social environment.
Bridge Chapel Centre, Liverpool - Café Memoir - A relaxing, social & therapeutic free community event for people living with dementia and their carers. Usually the second Friday of the month 2:30pm - 4:00pm.
Healthiness Ltd - community based health and fitness classes, including dementia friendly sessions, suitable for all levels of activity.
Retain Wellbeing - primary goal is to promote healthy aging and living well, social inclusion and wellbeing for all, helping people to learn new skills relevant to their life, or to retain life skills. See Cuppa Time Cafe below.

Cuppa Time / GIFT Café - 10.00am -12.30pm, Fridays during term time, Anfield Sports and Community Centre, Lower Breck Road, Liverpool. For people living with dementia, family and friends to share experiences, hints, tips and peer support. Admiral Nurse on hand to give professional help and advice.
Liverpool Memory Singers - 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month 1:15pm-3:15pm, a friendly singing group for people living with dementia and their carers, starting with tea/coffee and cake. St Bede's Church, Fern Grove, Liverpool L8 0SQ.
Meet Me at the Museum - dementia-friendly drop-in sessions for older people to come to the museum for a nostalgic look at items from the 1940s, 50s and 60s, using simple things to start conversations, sharing memories and enjoying each other’s company.
Pass On The Memories - supporting people living with dementia and carers using a range of interventions, including sporting reminiscence workshops and life story memory books. Run from Goodison Park four times a week, in partnership with Mersey Care NHS Trust.
Coffee Afternoon. 3rd Thursday monthly. Quiz, bingo, local history films, chat and catch up for carers and cared for. 1.00 – 3.00 pm All Saints Church Hall, Broadgreen Road, Liverpool.13. 68 bus stops outside,car parking.
Dobbies coffee morning. 2nd and 4th Monday 10.00 – 12.00 . Coffee and chat for carers and cared for.

Carers Centre. 4th Thursday monthly 1.00 – 3.00 pm Mount Vernon Green. Liverpool 7 . Chat and information. Carers only.
Breakfast at Sainsburys. Saturday and Sunday mornings 9.30 . East Prescot Road. Liverpool 14. 61 bus 10 bus.
Old Swan Memory Group – meet the 3rd Thursday of each month 1pm-3pm at All Saints Church Hall Broadgreen Rd Old Swan. Donation £1 per person – tea/coffee and biscuits provided. Activities include short film shows of old Liverpool, reviewing photo books of old Liverpool – the cinemas, overhead railway, the blitz, old factories, etc, quizzes, raffles and bingo, and general chatting, socialising. Next meeting dates 21st March and 18th April.
Sainsburys Coffee Mornings – there are a group of us who meet up with other people in the same position every Sat and/or Sun mornings approx 9:30/10am at Sainsburys Cafe on East Prescot Road. This is an informal get together just to socialise/have a chat....anybody is welcome to join us.
Liverpool Memory Singers – meet the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month 1:15pm – 3:15pm at St Bedes Church Hall FernGrove/Harrington Rd Toxteth. Subscription £1 per person – tea/coffee and cakes/biscuits provided. Very informal – no need to be a good singer. They are led by a leader and sing a mix of old standards from war years and musicals to some more recent songs eg Abba, Cliff Richard, etc. Next meeting dates 8th and 22nd March.
Merseycare Monthly Memory Group – meet once a month alternating between Millenium Centre West Derby Village (next to St Marys Church) and Long Lane Methodist Church Hall in Garston. 1pm-3pm. Different activities are undertaken at each meeting usually based around a theme. Again very informal and a chance to catch up for a chat. Tea/coffee and biscuits provided – no charge. Next meeting dates – Thurs 28th March at Millenium Centre and Weds 24th April at Long Lane.
Merseycare also arrange organised outings in the local area on a monthly basis, for further details contact Megan Johnson on 250 6077 or Eva Freeman on 250 6145..
Carers Support Group – meet 1pm-3pm the 4th Thurs of the month at Local Solutions Mount Vernon (near the Royal Hospital). This is for Carers only and offers support and advice to anyone who has a relative with Alzheimers or Dementia whether they are in a care home or being looked after at home.
TLC – meet the 2nd and 4th Weds of the month 12:30pm-3:30pm at Mossley Hill Athletic Club on Mossley Hill Road Liverpool 18. Hot food sandwiches and drinks provided and musical entertainment is laid on so that people can have a dance if they want. Next meeting dates – 13th and 27th March.
Memory Lane Cafes – are run at 2 venues in Norris Green/Croxteth where they play board games and other activities:-
- St Christophers church hall on Lorenzo Drive L11 1BD meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month 11:30am – 1pm
- The Good Shepherd church hall Lowerhouse Lane/Carr Lane East L11 2SF meet the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month 1:30pm-3pm.
Pass on the Memories – a very popular event run by Everton in the Community from the Blue Base in Salop Street Walton L4. These are held every Tuesday or Wednesday 1:30pm-3:30pm. A variety of activities are held from talks of old Liverpool to performances from groups and singers. For further details on how to join contact Shirley Henderson from Merseycare on 250 6125.

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust has built on the success of the Life Rooms in Walton by opening another venue in Southport as a centre for learning, recovery, health and wellbeing.
Among the new services provided for the community, service users and carers at the Life Rooms are:
- An employment and enterprise hub
- Literacy, numeracy and IT skills provided for service users in a safe environment
- Information about physical and mental wellbeing, advice on money, housing and community services
- A children’s library area
- Mersey Care Recovery College classrooms for our wide range of courses and workshops
- Meeting spaces for community groups
- A free IT suite for everyone to use
- Interview areas for private one-to-one conversations enabling confidential support
- A café
- An open area usable for art exhibitions and cultural activities for local groups.
